How can we help?

Answers about delivery, dates, chocolate, allergens, pre-orders, gifting and working with Salahuddin.

01

Ordering from us

Orders & delivery

How quickly will my order be dispatched?

Ready-to-ship orders are normally processed within 1 to 2 working days, excluding weekends and public holidays. Pre-orders, personalised orders and large gifting orders follow the timetable shown on the relevant product or quotation.

How long does UK delivery take?

Standard UK delivery normally takes 3 to 5 working days after dispatch. Express services, when available at checkout, normally take 1 to 2 working days after dispatch. Carrier delays and severe weather can affect these estimates.

When is UK delivery free?

Free standard UK delivery is currently available when your basket reaches £50. The checkout will confirm whether your order qualifies before payment.

Do you deliver internationally?

We deliver to many international destinations, subject to product, carrier and destination restrictions. Available services are shown at checkout. If your country is not listed, please contact us before ordering.

Will I pay customs charges, VAT or import duties?

International orders may attract local VAT, customs charges, duties or handling fees. Unless checkout explicitly says otherwise, these are charged by the destination country or carrier and are the recipient's responsibility.

How can I track my order?

We email tracking information when a tracked order is dispatched. You can also use our order-tracking page. Please allow time for the carrier's first scan to appear.

What happens to chocolate deliveries during hot weather?

Real chocolate is temperature-sensitive. During extreme heat we may adjust dispatch timing or packaging to reduce the risk of melting. Please bring the parcel indoors promptly and allow softened chocolate to firm gradually in a cool, dry place.

02

When something is not right

Problems, returns & cancellations

Can I change or cancel my order?

Contact us as soon as possible with your order number. We will try to help before fulfilment begins, but changes or cancellations cannot be guaranteed once an order has been packed or dispatched.

Can food products be returned or exchanged?

Please contact us before returning anything. Change-of-mind cancellation rights may be limited for goods that deteriorate rapidly, personalised products and sealed goods opened after delivery for health or hygiene reasons. This does not affect your statutory rights when goods are faulty, damaged, misdescribed or incorrect.

What should I do if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?

Please contact us as soon as possible, ideally within 48 hours, with your order number and clear photographs of the parcel and affected items. We will assess the issue and provide an appropriate replacement, refund or other resolution. The request to report promptly does not affect your statutory rights.

What if my parcel is delayed or appears to be missing?

Check the tracking link first, including any safe-place or neighbour information. If the estimated delivery window has passed without a useful update, send us your order number through the contact page and we will investigate with the carrier.

Products, ingredients & allergens

Where can I find ingredients and allergen information?

Check the product page and the packaging before eating. Recipes and suppliers can change, so the label supplied with the product is the final reference. If you have a severe allergy, please contact us before ordering because some products are made or packed where allergens are handled.

Are your chocolates palm-oil free?

Our own Salahuddin chocolate is developed without palm oil. Please still check the individual ingredient list, particularly for heritage sweets or products made with third-party components.

Are your products vegan?

Suitability varies by product. Milk and white chocolate contain milk, while some dark chocolates may be suitable for vegans. Only rely on a product being vegan when it is clearly identified as such on the product page or packaging.

Do your chocolates contain alcohol?

We do not formulate our own chocolates with alcohol. If you need confirmation about a particular flavour, supplied ingredient or third-party product, please ask us before ordering and check the product's full ingredient list.

How should I store chocolate and chocolate dates?

Keep them sealed in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, strong smells and sudden temperature changes. Around 15 to 18°C is ideal for chocolate. Always follow any product-specific storage instructions on the label.

Is chocolate bloom safe to eat?

A pale or streaky surface can be fat or sugar bloom caused by temperature or moisture changes. It can affect appearance and texture but is not normally a food-safety problem. Contact us if the product smells unusual, the pack is damaged or you are otherwise concerned.

How long will my products keep?

The best-before date is printed on the packaging and varies by product. Correct storage and resealing after opening help preserve quality. A best-before date relates to quality, while any use-by date must be followed for safety.

From farm to pack

Dates & sourcing

Which type of date should I choose?

Choose Medjool for a large, soft date with caramel notes; Ajwa for a smaller, deeper-flavoured traditional date; Sukary for a golden, very sweet and fudge-like date; or Ambar for a large, gently sweet and chewier date. Availability changes with the harvest, so explore the current premium date collection.

Why do dates vary in colour, size and texture?

Dates are agricultural products, so natural variation occurs between fruits and harvests. Variety, weather, ripeness and growing conditions all influence colour, softness and size. We grade and check each batch against the product specification.

Do the dates contain stones?

Unless the product is clearly described as pitted, assume the dates contain stones. Even pitted products should be eaten carefully because an occasional stone or fragment can remain.

Where are your Madinah dates grown?

Our core Madinah range comes from a partner farm situated between Masjid Nabawi and Mount Uhud. When a farm's current harvest sells out, we may buy from trusted nearby farms that follow the same quality and worker-care standards rather than selling old stock as new harvest.

How do you approach ethical sourcing?

We prioritise direct relationships, traceability and long-term partnerships. Our founder and team visit suppliers where possible, including our Madinah farm relationship, and expect workers to be treated well. Any product-specific certification is stated separately rather than assumed.

How should I store plain dates?

Keep unopened packs in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Once opened, reseal the pack carefully. Refrigeration can extend quality for softer varieties, although the dates may firm up when chilled; allow them to return to room temperature before eating.

Pre-orders & Proper Milk

What does a production-goal pre-order mean?

The product needs a minimum level of customer demand before we commit to its production run. Your order contributes to the target displayed on that product page. It is not ready stock unless the page clearly says otherwise.

How is the production progress calculated?

The progress display counts eligible pre-order units against the product's stated target. We may correct the count to remove cancelled orders, test orders or errors, so occasional adjustments are possible.

When is payment taken for a pre-order?

Unless checkout explicitly states otherwise, payment is taken when the order is placed. This reserves your order and allows it to count towards the production target.

When will a pre-order be dispatched?

The product page gives the best information available when you order. Production-goal products may not have a fixed dispatch date until the target is reached and manufacturing is scheduled. We will email material updates to pre-order customers.

What happens if the target is not reached?

We will contact customers before making a material change to the product or timetable. We will explain the available options, including cancellation or refund where applicable, rather than silently substituting a product or leaving the order without an update.

How can I join the Proper Milk tasting panel?

Register through the Proper Milk Tasting Panel page. Places are limited and registering does not guarantee a sample. We select suitable testers for future batches and ask for detailed, honest feedback.

Gifts, events and working together

Gifting, wholesale & stockists

Can I include a gift message or gift wrapping?

Options vary by product and order size. Available retail gift options are shown during ordering. For bespoke packaging, messages or multiple recipients, use our Corporate Gifting page.

Can you supply gifts for teachers, weddings or family events?

Yes. We can discuss individual gifts, sharing boxes, wedding favours and larger event quantities. Lead time, personalisation and minimum quantities depend on the format, so contact us early with the date, quantity and budget.

Do you provide corporate gifts or VIP event boxes?

Yes. We welcome enquiries for staff and client gifts, hospitality, football and sporting-event boxes, VIP areas, launches and branded tasting experiences. Visit Corporate Gifting to submit a detailed brief.

How can my business become a UK stockist?

Complete the form on our Wholesale and Stockist page. Include your business, location, sales channels, expected opening order and the products that interest you so we can assess fit and provide relevant terms.

Do you work with international stockists and distributors?

We welcome serious international enquiries. Please include your country, territory, channels, import experience, warehousing capability and expected volumes. Supply remains subject to destination rules, labelling, shelf life, freight and commercially viable quantities.

Do you offer white labelling or contract manufacturing?

We consider selected chocolate-bar and chocolate-date projects. Every project is assessed for recipe ownership, allergens, shelf life, packaging, production capacity, minimum quantities, lead time and destination requirements. Submit the project through our Wholesale page.
